Traditions of Fall

My, we have had some fun on the blog the last few weeks! I {love} reading all of your comments and emails that come my way! I think I need to add "Customer Service Rep" to my list of titles! I love answering your questions and concerns and I am so glad that you have someone to contact at DCWV that you know will help you with your issue! Never hesitate to shoot me an email!

So fall should be in full swing, right? It IS almost October!! We are having weather in the high 80's right now which is very odd for Utah!! But I am still enjoying the warmth, for a I know it really will be gone before we know it!! I took out some photos of a trip to our local apple orchard {and more} from 2 weeks ago. 

I remember taking these pictures with my new camera, loving everything about the moment. Picking up my peaches and pears to bottle. My 3 boys eating ice cream on the barn porch. Enjoying the quiet, simple time when I didn't have to be "anywhere" but here.

Simple life. Simple layout.

My pages are always pretty simple...this was sooo simple. Just cut the leaves out with the Cricut and added a little journaling and a title!

Can you see my three cute boys sitting on the curb? We love the big red barn!!

For this page I used the Amber Autumn Stack & the Amber Autumn Cardstock Stack along with the Doodlecharm Cricut cartridge.

Spooky Giveaway!

Well hello Monday...and my fabulous blogging friends! I hope you had a great weekend...I spent time crafting, watching football, with good friends & my favorite restaurant. I have nothing to 

complain about! 

Small Side Track: I had some requests on a video of how to properly tear out your paper from a stack to ensure that you don't rip the paper...so HERE it is! And if you watch, you "may" see a fabulous peek at a fabulous {new} holiday stack :)

When I was working the the featured project today, my boys totally wanted me to consider their input and they were very {into} the end result. (must have been the googly eyes) 

So I loved playing with {more} halloween goodies!! I love how perfectly our Midnight Spell Stack works with the Happy Hauntings Cricut Cartridge! I had an empty frame that I wanted to spruce up for the holiday, loved all of the different "phrase" options on this cartridge...

Cut out the "Spooky" saying and shadow...framed the 8x10 spider printed paper...added the Spooky on top of the mat....added rhinestones & googly eyes (everything is cuter with googly eyes right?)

Added the frame and my favorite May Arts ribbon!

Can't get enough of Midnight Spell!

You know when you are having one of those mornings when the distractions around you just seem to get the best of you? Well this morning it was only {one distraction}. And his name was Colt.  Luckily, this morning was a quick fix...in the form of a Tim Holtz Key embellishment.

"It's my key to the world"

"When Troy gets home from school, I am telling him its mine and he will never touch it."

"I'm going to get Tyler (next door BFF) and we will see what doors it will open."

Ahhh, peace and quiet. Was able to finish my project, photograph it and blog all in peace while listening to my soothing Mindy Gledhill album. 

I {love} how this necklace turned out!! I filled a Amate pendent with our Midnight Spell paper and covered it with some resin. I did it similar to how I did this one.

These necklaces are really popular here. You can get one necklace with a lobster claw clasp on it and keep switching out your charms to get different necklaces. I attached the pendent to a key chain ring and then tied some May Arts ribbon to add a little something extra. The green ribbon was a wide ribbon that I cut in half, love the frayed edge that it gives! I can't wait to wear it to the boy's school Halloween parties!

There's a {vampire} in my car!

So you know Halloween is coming when you turn around in the car and see the scariest vampire that you have ever seen....

This is totally why you keep your camera in your purse!! These are the moments to scrap & remember!!

I was blown away with the response to our giveaway! I love this time of year.

Football. Fall decor. Rides in the canyon to see the leaves.

I picked the boys up from school and made the 10 minute drive to the top of the canyon that we live near. I love it when the leaves are green with a hint of orange...just like this...

Seriously, could these two get any cuter? I have the most darling boys on the planet! 

I also love making anything for Halloween!! Why is Halloween such a fun holiday to craft for? I don't know if it's the colors or the spooky images, it's just plain fun!

I found this jar of candy at Walmart for $3. Figured I could "spice it up" a bit and give it to Troy's teacher for her desk....

I used the Midnight Spell Stack to cut papers and the "eek" banner...glued it to the front of the jar. 

I love all of the glitter & epoxy finishes on our papers. These two are my favorites right now....

Why? Because I love Fall!!! Getting the hint? :)

Halloween Mantel Banner

Last week I shared some Halloween Lollipops that I made with the Midnight Spell Stack and I told you I had a matching banner for my mantel. Well it's up and done and I am can't wait to share!!

I love dressing up the mantel with banners...being in the center of our Living Room/Kitchen, I look at it all day and can enjoy it all day long! That's what I love about paper crafted home decor...it's not tucked off in a book on a shelf, I can see it all the time!

Loving my new camera! I feel like you can really see my projects the way they are meant to be seen!!

1st Stack-a-holic Surprise!

I have been really excited to try something {new} on the blog this morning!!! I love looking at blogs to find inspiration from all of YOU!! I love it when I am scrolling through a random blog and I find the cutest DCWV layouts. I want a way to feature our loyal DCWV customers and blog viewers! So periodically I will feature a stack customer's blog & DCWV layout and will post "my version" of their fabulous layout!! Sound fun? 

So our first feature is the amazing Susan Stringfellow! I have been familiar with her work for years and her blog always features the cutest DCWV stack layouts! And I know she is a serious stack-addict which I love too :)

I love the color blocking with the Citrus Stack! And all of the little details just make me happy. Susan always has 3-D elements and stitching on her pages...love it.

And here is my version using my new Lion King picture! And I was so proud of myself that I quit being lazy and drug out my sewing machine for the layout...love how it turned out.

   

I used a combination of Black Currant Stack (for the black prints) and Mango Frost Stack (for the coral & yellow)

Spark

Wow, what a weekend! 16 DCWV employees represented the company at a local creativity retreat called, Spark. We are {so lucky} to work for a company who find it important to keep their employee's creativity flowing and learning new things. And the time spent with co-workers brainstorming ideas and bonding was just as important in my book. I pinch myself everyday when I think about the company I work for, the friends I work with and what I get to do everyday! I am so lucky!!

So here are some photos of our weekend...playing with glue, being inspired by "stuff' around us & dreaming up new dreams...
