Wow. A whole year of Stack-a-holic Challenges! Can you believe it? April marks our 1 Year Anniversary of hosting our challenges here on the blog. Each month they get bigger. And each month you seem to amaze me even more!
You have asked and asked for it. I wasn't sure if adding a 2nd monthly challenge to the mix would add more to my overflowing work load. But in the end, it will be worth it to be able to have our CARD Stack-a-holics play with us every month! Yes, it's true. Starting this month, we will have 2 sketches. A card and a page! You are welcome to participate in both challenges!
Here are the details. Create a layout and/or card based on the given template using one of our many stacks! Submit your page by April 29th by either emailing it to me {erinmadsen@diecutsinc.com}, posting a photo of it on our DCWV Facebook Page or by posting it on your blog and sending me a link. That's it!
I am going to start mixing it up when it comes to where my sketches come from. When I was looking for sites that offered card sketches, I found some great websites! This month, both sketches come from the cool site, Got Sketch? Thank you, Valerie!!!
Here is your template for April!
I used the Nantucket Stack for this layout of my son's 1st grade Patriotic Program at school. There is a glare on the photo but he looks so cute as Abe Lincoln in Mt. Rushmore :) He was so proud!
I love the Nantucket Stack for all of the great red, white and blue prints. After I finished the layout, I found some fun patriotic prints in the new Spring & Summer 180 Stack. Gotta get those pages ready for summer!
And now, for our VERY FIRST card sketch!
I used the Spring Fling Box of Cards for the card base and the Spring & Summer 180 Stack for the printed paper. Both of these are out at Jo-Ann Stores right now. I love how fresh and springy it is!
I can't wait to see what you guys make with these sketches!!
And don't forget to keep posting comments on the blog to be entered in our giveaways! For last week's comments, congrats to:
Wow. Going to go check it out. My husband might have to hide the credit card.
AND
Beautiful layouts.
Email me {erinmadsen@diecutsinc.com} and I will get your prize out in the mail!

ReplyDeleteErin, what a cute card and great LO. Happy to see that you can have a great page even with "imperfect" photos. As long as they capture a great memory, which is the whole point... who cares??

Love this page sketch. I usually don't join in challenges, but I might this timw. Love your layout. And I agree with Beatrice, they're your pix, good or bad. Use em!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jess
Great sketch. Love your take on it.
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that you have added card sketches. I'm such a chronological scrapbooker that trying to do a page out of order to fit a challenge does not work for me. Cards, on the other hand, can always be fit into a challenge! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove those fake beards! And how nice to now have card sketches to work with, too. Will definitely try to fit that in.
ReplyDeleteReal cute layouts. I love making cards and use the layouts frequently. They keep me busy as I have lots of grankids and greats.

Love, love, love the sketches and so glad you added a card contest. Love your layout, so cute. I will have to get the Nantucket stack for a 4th of July mini album I am doing, not to mention it would be great colors for OWH cards. TFS and hosting the contest.

ReplyDeleteErin, your card IS super fresh and spring! Love it!!!! TFS!
ReplyDeletecute layout and card! You should use http://www.inlinkz.com/ on the scrap a holic challenge posts so everyone who enters can post their layout or card creation using the sketch. That way we can all see what was made and get inspiration. Tim Holtz uses it on his blog and love to look at everyones creations this way. Just an idea
ReplyDeleteI love card sketches and am so glad you have one. I always find making a card is so much easier when I have the help of a sketch, binging a whole new style I would otherwise not do. Thanks.
