Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was fab...we had lots of warm weather here in Utah so I did lots of swimming and tanning with the kiddos, yummy Mexican food, a fun baby shower for my cousin...just a good weekend of hanging out basically :) Love those kinds! I did work quite a bit this weekend too! Which is totally OK...when you work from home, it seems like you just work whenever you can including weekends. It works for me :)
This weekend was FUN work too. Did you hear the big news?! No, I am not pregnant ;)
We are looking for our very first design team!! Get all of the details HERE on how you can enter. The deadline is June 30th. We will be announcing the new team at CHA on July 16th which will be very fun :) But it makes for a tight deadline so get going on your submissions! I have already been getting lots of questions so I wanted to answer them here so everyone can see.
Do we have to have a blog to apply?
We really want our design team to each have their own blogs that they maintain. You don't have to have a blog to apply but if you are chosen, we would like you to start one then.
I live overseas and would REALLY like to apply. Any way you can lift your international restriction?
I talked to Bossman yesterday about this and after lots of discussion, we decided YES, we want our International Stack-a-holics to apply! The issue we were faced with is high costs of shipping products overseas. Our paper is HEAVY and I want to spoil our team which means high shipping costs that we will be paying. But this is something we will take on because we really want to keep this open to everyone!!! ***I have changed the original blog post to allow international submissions.
What is an "off the page" project?
Basically it is anything that is not a layout or a card! Think altered items, home decor projects, gift items, holiday items, mini albums, party set ups....HERE is a link to Michaels website to their "Off the Page Idea" Category which may help :)
Can the projects we submit be projects we have already made?
Yes! Whatever you feel is your best work which represents you as a crafter the best way!
Will you compensate design team members that get their projects (using your products) published in print magazines?
This is something I will have to discuss with Bossman. There really are only a few print magazines left sadly :) If we decide to do this I will let the design team know once they are chosen.
I hope this helps clear up some confusion! I am already getting submissions and I am SOOO excited!!! This is going to be so much fun!
And if the excitement level wasn't high enough already... HERE is a new video showing you 4 new lines that will be new to Jo-Anns! Stardust, Homespun, A Type of Art & Guilded Orchard will be out as early as NEXT WEEK! I think I said in the video the end of July but I meant the end of June ;) Hey, I'm not perfect hee hee!
Be sure and leave me a comment telling me what your favorites are!! I love reading your favorite picks!
Have a fabulous day, everyone!

Oh they look awesome :)

Oh good the new stacks are coming sooner. I wanted to use one for my design team submission.
ReplyDeleteI really like all these stacks but I have to say that A Type Art is my fave out of them all.
ReplyDeleteI love the TypeArt-it looks so versatile. And it's cherry and happy!
ReplyDeleteI so love all your collections but I have to admit that the Stardust and the Gilded Orchard are my cats meow and I can't wait to get my hands on them.
ReplyDeleteHi, Erin! These look really cute. I think Stardust and Guilded Orchard are my favorites out of this release. If I may make a suggestion... there are tons of card makers out here in Papercraft Land and an 6" or 8" square stack with scaled down prints would be awesome. Many of us prefer making square cards and the mat stacks are too narrow to use for that unless I use multiple pages. Maybe that's by design but in this economy, we need to save a penny any way we can. The square stacks often work better for mini books and albums too. Thanks for reading this.
ReplyDeleteOkay, you were losing me until Stardust, but WOW! I love that stack. The nebulas, constellations, and the deep rich colors are awesome!
ReplyDeleteStardust is tops on my list, as my husband's favorite hobby is astronomy! You guys did an awesome job on that one. I also love Gilded Orchard! Thanks for the peek.
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with the Stardust stack! I love anything celestial and this paper is just amazing! I love all of the foiling and the beautiful colors! I am so getting a stack (or maybe 2) of this one!
ReplyDeleteI am NOT watching that video because I will just want those stacks and Joann's needs to hurry up and open in Canada!

My favorite - I think is "A Type of Art" because I'm taking calligraphy lessons right now and fonts of all type are very interesting to me.
